I love to start my day with this detox tea, especially in the cold months and when I'm feeling under the weather. It is packed ginger, turmeric, cinnamon, cayenne, pepper and lemon flavor.
Ingredients
- 6 cups water

1 4 inch ginger root, sliced
- 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cayenne
- 1 teaspoon Sel Gris
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 4 cinnamon sticks
- 6 lemons
Instructions
- Add the water to a pot with the sliced ginger and bring to a boil. Simmer for 10 minutes. Whisk in the turmeric, cayenne, salt, pepper, cinnamon sticks and juice of 1 lemon. Simmer for another 10 minutes.
- Strain the tea into a glass container (this can be stored in the fridge for a week).
- To serve fill a tea mug half way with the tea, half with hot water, and squeeze in half a lemon.
