Your favorite pizza toppings made into a delicious baked pasta!
Ingredients
- 1 pound penne pasta
- 1 pound bulk Italian sausage
- 1 pepperoni sausage, chopped
- 1 cup sliced pepperoni
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 4 ounces cremini mushrooms, chopped
- 1 jar marinara sauce
- 1 ball mozzarella cheese, pulled into small pieces
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 2 teaspoons Pizza Seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons Roasted Garlic Olive Oil
Instructions
- Heat the oven to 350 degrees.
- Bring a large salted pot of water to a boil and cook the pasta to al dente.
- While the pasta cooks, make the sauce. Heat the olive oil in a large ovenproof skillet over medium heat. Add the sausage and chopped pepperoni and saute for about 5 minutes until browned, breaking the sausage into small pieces.
- Add the bell pepper, mushrooms, pizza seasoning and salt. Saute for another 5 minutes until the bell pepper begins to soften. Add the marinara sauce, fill the marinara sauce jar about 1/3 full of water and add to the skillet. Stir to combine and reduce the heat to low.
- When the pasta is cooked, drain and add to the sauce. Toss well to combine. Top the pasta with the parmesan cheese, mozzarella cheese, and sliced pepperoni.
- Transfer to the oven and cook for about 20 minutes until the cheese is melted and the pepperonis are crisp.
