This made the whole family do a happy dance. Thinly sliced beef and chopped broccolini is cooked in a delicious sauce of soy, chile, and garlic. I like to add a little dusting of szechuan pepper to mine for a little tingle.
Ingredients
-
1 boneless rib eye steak, sliced thin
-
1 bunch broccolini, chopped
-
2 garlic cloves, grated
-
1 tablespoon sambal oelek or sriracha
-
1/4 cup soy sauce
-
1 teaspoon cornstarch
-
2 tablespoons rice vinegar
-
1/4 cup avocado oil
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed sichuan peppercorn
-
1 cup rice, cooked
Instructions
-
In a large bowl, mix the soy sauce, sambal, garlic and rice vinegar. Add the beef and let sit for about 15 minutes.
-
Heat the oil in a large skillet over high heat. Add the beef (reserve the sauce) and cook for about 2 minutes. Remove the beef, add the broccolini and cook for about 5 minutes. Add a splash of water to the skillet and cook the broccolini for another 2 minutes. Then return the beef and the sauce to the skillet. Toss together for about a minute and serve with rice. Sprinkle with crushed sichuan.
