I’m pretty confident these are the best baked beans you’ll ever have and they come together so easily with canned beans (who has time to soak and cook beans?!), bacon, bourbon and molasses.
Ingredients
-
2 cans Navy beans, drained and rinsed
-
6 slices bacon, diced
-
1 onion, diced
-
4 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 cup bourbon
-
1/4 cup molasses
-
1 1/2 cup chicken stock
-
1 cup barbeque sauce
-
1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
Instructions
-
Heat oven to 325 degrees
-
Heat large ovenproof saute pan over medium high heat. Add the bacon and cook until crisp. Remove the bacon and transfer to a bowl. Add the onion and cook until soft, about 5 minutes. Add the garlic and cook for a minute. Add the bourbon and cook until it is almost evaporated. Add the beans, molasses, chicken stock, bacon, season with salt and pepper and mix.
-
Cover and bake for 30 minutes. Uncover and bake for another 20 minutes until the sauce is thickened.
