Caramelized Cabbage Pasta

Caramelized Cabbage Pasta - Olive Branch Oil & Spice

This is a comforting dinner with buttery caramelized cabbage, pasta and parmesan.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound pasta (you can use your favorite short or long shaped pasta)
  • 1 head green cabbage, cored and sliced
  • 2 shallots, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons Garlic Olive Oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Bring a large salted pot of water to a boil and cook the pasta to al dente.
  2. While the pasta cooks, add the garlic olive oil and butter to a large saute pan over medium heat. Add the shallots, cabbage, salt and pepper. Saute for 10-15 minutes until tender and caramelized.
  3. Add 1/2 cup of pasta water to the cabbage and mix in the parmesan cheese. Drain the pasta and toss with cabbage. Enjoy!
