This is a delicious weeknight take on an Indian inspired butter chicken. Spicy, tomatoey, creamy deliciousness.
Ingredients
- 1 pound chicken breast, cut into small pieces
- 1 cup greek yogurt
- 1 lemon, juiced
- 1 tablespoon garam masala
- 1 tablespoon turmeric
- 1/2 tablespoon ground cumin
- 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 onion, minced
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1 28 ounce can crushed tomatoes
- 1 cup cream
- 1 cinnamon stick
- Cilantro, naan and rice for serving
Instructions

Place the chicken in a bowl and toss with the yogurt, lemon juice, garam masala, turmeric and cumin. Set aside.

Melt butter in a large skillet. Add the onion, ginger and garlic and saute for 5 minutes until the onion is tender. Add the chicken and saute for 5 minutes. Add the tomatoes, cream and cinnamon stick and simmer for about 10 minutes until the chicken is cooked through.

Serve the chicken over warm naan and rice. Top with cilantro.
