Pizza Hand Pie (aka Hot Pocket)

This is easy, delicious, and a great family activity. Puff pastry layered with pizza ingredients and baked to perfection. Brings me back to the good old days of hot pockets (but way better). Yum!


  • 1 package puff pastry, thawed

  • 1/2 cup Simple Tomato Sauce, or store bought pizza sauce

  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

  • 1 cup pepperonis

  • 1 egg

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 2 teaspoons Pizza Seasoning


  1. Heat oven to 400 degrees.

  2. Roll out the puff pastry and cut each piece in half (to make 2 pies)

  3. One side add half the sauce, pizza seasoning, cheese and pepperoni leaving about 1/2 inch of space on the edges

  4. Place the other pastry on top and crimp the edges down to seal the pie. Cut three slits in the top. Repeat.

  5. Mix the egg with a splash of water and brush the egg wash over the top of the pie. Sprinkle with salt.

  6. Bake for 25 minutes until golden brown.

Takes 30 minutes
