These meatballs are easy and full of flavor. I love to serve these tucked in a pita with spicy feta, schug, pickled red onion and tomatoes. Yum!

  • 1 pound ground lamb

  • 1 pound ground beef

  • 1 onion, grated

  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste

  • 2 teaspoons ground allspice

  • 2 garlic cloves, grated

  • 1 egg

  • 1/4 cup parsley, chopped

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 8 ounce feta

  • 1 tablespoon calabrian chiles

  • 1 lemon, zested and juiced

  • 1/2 cup olive oil (I prefer Koroneiki Greek Olive Oil)

  • 1/2 cup greek yogurt

  • Serve with: Pita, Green Schug, Pickled Red Onion

  1. Heat oven to 450 degrees

  2. Mix lamb, beef, onion, tomato paste, allspice, garlic, egg and parsley together season with salt and pepper and form into 1-2 inch balls.

  3. Drizzle with 3 tablespoons olive oil and cook for 15 minutes

  4. While the meatballs cook make the spicy feta. Add feta, calabrian chiles, lemon zest and juice, 5 tablespoons olive oil and yogurt to a food processor and mix until whipped smooth.

  5. Serve the meatballs over the feta and with pita, Schug, pickled red onion, tomato and anything else you want!
